Shop Local Passport Official Rules

  • Shopper are encouraged to spend $20 at each of 10 participating shops and have their passport validated at the time of purchase.  Purchases must be made between May 26, 2022 and October 6, 2022 to be eligible.
  • Completed passports must be returned to The Ellsworth American at 1 Printing House Square by October 14 to be eligible for the drawing.
  • All completed and returned passports will receive a free 6-month digital subscription to The Ellsworth American and Mount Desert Islander Newspapers and be entered into a drawing for a first prize of admission to the 2022 Downeast Cider + Cheese Festival  and a grand prize of a night on the town in Ellsworth.

No purchase necessary.

Employees of The Ellsworth American, Heart of Ellsworth including board members and their families are not eligible for the shop local passport contest.
